Our First Two Weeks of Adventure

So sorry I haven't updated the family blog lately. We've been busy bees lately. I thought moving to Ohio would slow us down a bit, but we haven't quite learned how to do that yet. Since we arrived over 2 weeks ago, I have been busy dealing with the movers, the rental property, getting Micah situated in school and transferring all of our existence out here.

The Kelso home is beautiful. We definitely made the right choice. It is a very spacious home on a beautiful lot of land. The first few days we were here, I never saw Micah. On day one he walked over to our neighbors house and met the 2 boys that live there. They quickly became friends and have been spending everyday outside exploring the forest and ravine in our backyard. He only comes home to eat, snack or potty. When the sun goes down he is back at home covered in mud from head to toe. I feel like were living in a Huckleberry Fin novel. Mylie and Max have ventured into the backyard too and they love it. I have to keep a leash on those too or I might loose them in the forest.

Easter weekend was the first weekend we spent in our new home. We had a beautiful day together. Since we had been so busy, I was out at target the night before 30 minutes before closing getting everything I needed for Easter. On Easter morning the kids had baskets for the Easter bunny, we went to church, came home and did egg decorating, made resurrection eggs and went egg hunting all in one day! Then Matt BBQ'd a yummy dinner for us and we enjoyed in all around our dining room table. It was the first Easter I can remember being able to soak up every minute with each of my kids. Thank you Jesus for this very special Easter and for dying on the cross for our sins so we can be new creations!

As we were celebrating Easter, our very best friends Tim, Carlos & Angelica were driving across the country with my Acadia and our doggies Gabby and Gracie. 5 month old baby Isaac was along for the ride too! They travelled over 2200 miles in only 36 hours and arrived at our doorstep the day after Easter! We were thrilled to have them here. We spent 8 days together showing them all that Ohio has to offer. Some of the really fun things we did were explore Hyde Park in Cincinnati, go to a Cincinnati Reds game, went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, walked around Eden Park that overlooked downtown Cincy, went on an adventurous hike along the big river next to our house, ate some famous Skyline Chili and thoroughly enjoyed the best ice cream ever...Greaters Ice Cream. We made some amazing memories together that will last a lifetime! Thank you friends for everything...we hope you visit in the future some day.

So now that our friends have gone home to Cali, it's time to finish unpacking our boxes and getting into our new routine. Micah was on spring break last week while our friends were here, so he is back in school now and eager to take the bus to school tomorrow for the first time. He really likes his new friends and is loving the attention from all the little girls. He said they fight over who sits by him at lunch and who his partner is during P.E. Oh boy! I also get to register Mylie for Kindergarten this week. I can't believe how fast our little princess is growing. It makes me sad, but I am so thankful to be home with them every minute of every day to watch them grow!

I'll do my best to update this thing more consistently from now on...once I learn how to slow down a bit. :)

Miss everyone so much! Hugs and kisses from all of us.
